President, Brandon Weiss, having been on construction sites his entire life, always knew he was going to become a home builder. After college, Brandon played professional basketball in Europe. Having a background in construction, he paid close attention to the green building practices that were a common place in Europe long before being adopted in the Western Hemisphere. When retiring from basketball and starting his building company, Brandon wanted to focus his homes on green features that focused on health , energy efficient, and environmentally responsible buildings. After studying green building in both the classroom and real world, Brandon soon had a deep passion for building science. Building science is the approach of designing and building homes based on the laws of science and physics, and correlating that to the whole systems approach to building.
Brandon has earned many honors and designations over his building career. Brandon has continually been at the forefront of the green building market and education. Some of these include graduating in first class of WELL AP (International Well Building Institute), being among the first 30 living Future Accredited Professionals in the world (International Living Future Institute), one of the first 50 PHIUS Certified Builders, and becoming one of the first 24 Master Certified Green Professionals (national Assoc of Home Builders). Brandon is also a Graduate Master Builder (NAHB) which is the highest designation for a home builder. Besides that Brandon is a LEED AP (US Green Building Council), Certified Graduate Builder, Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst & Envelope Professional, Certified Aging In Place Specialist. All of these designations require classroom education, field experience, required third party certified homes, and annual continuing education requirements. Brandon continually achieves over 100 hours of industry specific continuing education annually.

Recent awards include: 2013 US Dept of Energy Grand Award for Home Innovation, 2013 NAHB National Master Certified Green Professional of the Year, 2013 USGBC Emerald Award for Home Innovation, 2013 GreenBuilder magazine Home of the year Award, 2012 Northern Illinois Builder of The Year, 2011 BALA (Best in American Living Award) for Best Whole House Remodel Under $250,000 in USA, 2011 Northern Illinois Remodeler of The Year, and numerous project specific awards.
